War against whom

The military serivce allows a country an army when needed and so it helps the country to defend itself. Without an army the country would propably not be convincing and would so end up in a military confrontation much more often and be a subject of wrongdoings. But once a country has an army, it typically can count on other tactics too. Even if there is a shift in who is in power, there is not necessarily need for war if the new power is ok for the people. Army is for defence against poor living conditions, against invaders whose rule would bring too poor life for the people. Those new rulers who change things toward better, need not be warred against but merely defend independency and rights of the people by more peaceful means.
